This redevelopment of defective local authority housing stock provided 83 homes. MH Architects proposed a revised layout that transformed the neighbourhood introducing squares and courtyards that integrate well with the surroundings.

Various masterplan options were explored to ensure that the goals of creating a sustainable and inviting community were embedded into the design from the outset. Careful consideration of all aspects of the housing design and public realm will ensure that this new high density redevelopment has provided enjoyable homes and a welcome lift to the perception of the area. Compact planning, good thermal performance and daylighting make this an exemplary model of rational and sustainable brownfield integration.
