Completed Due in spring 2012

MH Architects designed this scheme for 38 extremely low-energy affordable homes on the site of a derelict care home and social club, in Horsham. The whole scheme integrates Lifetime Homes criteria and aims to achieve a good Building for Life score. 12 of the houses have been designed to adhere to a stringent building energy evaluation system called PassivHaus. This means 'super-insulating' the envelope and reducing energy usage to an absolute minimum. All of the homes have been orientated and designed to optimize the use of solar gain as well as provide roof area suitable for the use of renewable energy systems, such as Photovoltaics and Solar Hot Water. The homes on the scheme are aiming to achieve levels 4 and 5 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

Currently on site completion is anticipated in early spring 2012.
