Black Lion Street is a four storey re-development and restoration in South Laines, Brighton. The ground floor houses restaurants including a branch of Jamie Oliver’s restaurant chain while the upper floors are mixed use.
The street front is emphasized with a vertical rhythm of coloured cladding. Large triangular glazed panels travel up the façade to differing heights incorporating projecting elements providing a degree of modeling to the street frontage. Designed at planning stage by CZWG.
In 2009 Black Lion Street won the Best Commercial Building over £1 million category of the LABC Building Excellence.
